Peru has a wide range of natural resources, which are exploited in numerous mines. The extraction of natural gas also plays a major role. These conventional industries traditionally use grating. The process of opening up the market for other applications is still in its infancy, but offers great potential.
The stable political situation, the consistent growth of recent years, and the favourable strategic location were the critical factors for MEISER in its decision to get involved in this country. It was quickly determined that a JV with the established grating manufacturer Grating Peru and our sales partner Grupo Cuñado represents the best solution. After multiple visits and negotiations, an agreement was finally reached. On 25 November 2014, the contracts were signed in Lima, and Grating Meiser Latam has since been a joint venture of the former owners, MEISER, and Grupo Cuñado. The market territory for our new JV is South and Central America, excluding Brazil. Our employee Ignacio Jiménez Bruno has performed exceptional ground work here, and will be on location providing active sales support over the coming months.
