Tholey Abbey in Tholey in Saarland is a Benedictine monastery in the diocese of Trier and belongs to the Beuron Congregation. The abbey church is under the patronage of Saint Mauritius.
From the north, the 571 m Schaumberg rises above the Tholey /Saar municipality with its approx. 2,500 inhabitants. From the lookout tower built there in 1976, which with its chapel is both a memorial of peace and a memorial to the dead of France and Germany in the two world wars, there is a wide panorama to the Hunsrück and Hochwald in the north and Lorraine in the southwest.
The Meiser family supports the abbey out of Christian conviction.
