GRP Surfaces

Safety and Functionality for Every Application

Surface Options for GRP Products

Our GRP products are available with a variety of surface finishes designed to meet different requirements for slip resistance, cleanability, and walkability depending on the intended application.

For industrial applications in wet or damp environments, corundum- or quartz-gritted surfaces are the preferred choice, offering high to maximum slip resistance (R12 to R13). Concave surfaces are particularly suitable for areas where oils and greases are present, as they combine effective slip resistance with easy cleaning. For publicly accessible areas or barefoot traffic zones, quartz-gritted and textured surfaces are commonly used. Flat-ground, profiled, or textured finishes provide especially easy cleaning, meet aesthetic requirements, and, depending on the design, are also suitable for indoor or decorative applications. This ensures that the right combination of safety, functionality, and design is available for every application.

Concave Surface (K)

The concave surface is the standard finish for molded GRP gratings. It is created during the manufacturing process as the liquid resin cures. Depending on the bar thickness and mesh size, slip resistance ratings of R12 or R13 are achieved.

The concave surface is suitable for all industrial applications where slip-promoting substances such as oils and greases are present. If required, it can be cleaned easily.

Corundum-Gritted Surface (KB)

The corundum-gritted surface is also a standard finish. The grit is applied after the grating has been manufactured, using a resin bonding process. Regardless of bar thickness and mesh size, the highest possible slip resistance rating, R13, is achieved.

The corundum-gritted surface is particularly suitable for industrial applications in predominantly wet or damp environments. Cleaning options are limited in cases of permanent contamination with oily or greasy substances.

Quartz-Gritted Surface (QB)

The quartz-gritted surface is available upon request. The grit is applied after the grating has been manufactured, using a resin bonding process. It is characterized by enhanced slip resistance. Depending on the bar thickness and mesh size, slip resistance ratings of R12 to R13 are achieved.

The quartz-gritted surface is suitable for publicly accessible and/or barefoot traffic applications in predominantly wet or damp environments. Cleaning options are limited in cases of permanent contamination with oily or greasy substances.

Ground Smooth Surface (GS)

The ground smooth surface is available upon request. After the FRP grating has been manufactured, the surface is evenly ground and subsequently sealed.

The primary focus of this finish is ease of cleaning and, when combined with suitable mesh sizes, the possibility of barefoot traffic. Regardless of bar thickness and mesh size, a slip resistance rating of R10 is achieved.

In special applications, grinding is used to achieve a precisely defined grating height. Decorative applications of molded GRP gratings, such as infill panels for railings or façade cladding, are also preferably realized with this surface finish.

Corundum-Sanded Surface (KB)

The corundum-sanded surface is the standard surface finish for GRP safety flooring, GRP safety floor panels, and GRP sandwich gratings. The sand coating is applied after the GRP safety flooring has been manufactured, using synthetic resin. In addition, a gel coat protects the surface. The highest possible slip resistance rating, R13, is achieved. The corundum-sanded surface is suitable for industrial applications, primarily in wet or damp environments. Cleaning options are limited in cases of permanent contamination with oily or greasy substances.

Quartz-Sanded Surface (QB)

The quartz-sanded surface is available upon request. The sand coating is applied after the GRP safety flooring has been manufactured, using synthetic resin. In addition, a gel coat protects the surface. A slip resistance rating of R13 is achieved. The quartz-sanded surface is suitable for public and/or barefoot-accessible applications, primarily in wet or damp environments. Cleaning options are limited in cases of permanent contamination with oily or greasy substances.

Structured Tear Plate Solo Surface (STS)

The Structured Tear Plate Solo surface is available upon request. The surface is created by using a corresponding negative mould during the lamination of the GRP panel. The structure height is approximately 0.1 mm. A slip resistance rating of R10 is achieved. With this surface, the primary focus is on easy cleaning and the possibility of barefoot use. We recommend using this surface mainly in indoor areas.

Structured Tear Plate Quintet Surface (STQ)

The Structured Tear Plate Quintet surface is available upon request. The surface is created by using a corresponding negative mould during the lamination of the GRP panel. The structure height is approximately 0.7 mm. A slip resistance rating of R12 is achieved. As with this surface, the primary focus is on easy cleaning and barefoot accessibility. Thanks to its increased slip resistance, industrial indoor applications are also possible.

Chipped Aggregate Surface (SB)

The chipped aggregate surface is available upon request. The aggregate coating is applied after the GRP safety flooring has been manufactured, using synthetic resin. In addition, a gel coat protects the surface. The highest possible slip resistance rating, R13, is achieved. The chipped aggregate surface is suitable for industrial applications in highly slip-critical environments. Cleaning options are limited in cases of permanent contamination with oily or greasy substances.

Corundum-Gritted Surface (KB)

The corundum-gritted surface is the standard finish for GRP safety flooring, GRP safety floor panels, and GRP sandwich gratings. The grit is applied after the safety flooring has been manufactured using a resin bonding process. In addition, a gel coat protects the surface. The highest possible slip resistance rating, R13, is achieved.

The grit is applied after the GRP safety flooring has been manufactured using a resin bonding process. In addition, a gel coat protects the surface. A slip resistance rating of R13 is achieved.

The quartz-gritted surface is suitable for publicly accessible and/or barefoot traffic applications in predominantly wet or damp environments. Cleaning options are limited in cases of permanent contamination with oily or greasy substances.

Chipped Aggregate-Gritted Surface (SB)

The chipped aggregate-gritted surface is available upon request. The aggregate is applied after the GRP safety flooring has been manufactured using a resin bonding process. In addition, a gel coat protects the surface. The highest possible slip resistance rating, R13, is achieved.

The chipped aggregate-gritted surface is suitable for industrial applications in environments with particularly high slip hazards. Cleaning options are limited in cases of permanent contamination with oily or greasy substances.

Corundum-Gritted Surface (KB)

The corundum-gritted surface is the standard finish for GRP pultruded gratings. The grit is applied after the grating has been manufactured using a resin bonding process. Regardless of bar spacing or bar thickness, the highest possible slip resistance rating, R13, is achieved.

The grit is applied after the grating has been manufactured using a resin bonding process. Regardless of bar spacing or bar thickness, a slip resistance rating of R12 is achieved.

The quartz-gritted surface is suitable for publicly accessible and/or barefoot traffic applications in predominantly wet or damp environments. Cleaning options are limited in cases of permanent contamination with oily or greasy substances.

Profiled Surface (PR)

A longitudinally profiled surface is available for selected bar heights. This finish is primarily designed to meet aesthetic requirements while also providing ease of cleaning.

Regardless of bar spacing and bar thickness, a slip resistance rating of R10 is achieved.
