QUINCY Field Lab: Innovative technologies in practical use
From August 25 to 27, 2026, the Field Lab of the QUINCY research project took place at MEISER Solar in Losheim am See. The focus was on innovative technologies to support employees on large construction sites.
During two practical days, sensor-based work suits and camera technologies were tested under real conditions. The aim was to record movement sequences and physical strain during the installation of substructures for solar systems and to gain insights from this for safer and more ergonomic work design.
On the third day, the project partners came together to evaluate the results of the practical tests and discuss them jointly. In addition to MEISER Solar, the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW), the University of Kassel and the August-Wilhelm Scheer Institute (AWSi) were involved in the Field Lab. The practical testing was supported by the installation companies Greencells and Ecotec.
The QUINCY project shows how digitalisation and innovative technologies can contribute to sustainably improving working conditions on large construction sites.
