Galvanizing process
High-quality galvanization for lasting stability
To ensure that your vineyard poles withstand wind, weather and mechanical stress for decades, high-quality galvanizing is crucial. We offer two proven processes:
Hot-dip galvanising after fabrication (DIN EN ISO 1461)
In hot-dip galvanising after fabrication, each post is immersed in a bath of pure zinc at approximately 450 °C.
- All-round protection: all cut edges and punched openings receive a complete zinc coating
- Coating thickness: 60–80 µm (minimum value approx. 45–55 µm)
- Durability: extremely long-lasting – often more than 30 years, making it ideal for highly exposed sites or mechanised vineyards
Continuous strip galvanising (DIN EN 10346)
In continuous strip galvanising, steel strip is coated with zinc in a continuous process.
- Zinc coating: approx. 13–25 µm (Z275) / approx. 18–31 µm (ZM310)
- Edge protection: cut edges created during profiling remain reliably protected by the cathodic protection effect
- Cost: more economical than hot-dip galvanising after fabrication – suitable for standard installations exposed to normal levels of stress
Cost-benefit comparison
- Hot-dip galvanised posts offer maximum corrosion protection and a particularly long service life, but are more cost-intensive.
- Continuously galvanised posts offer economic advantages where mechanical loads are lower or site conditions are less demanding.
Choosing the right galvanising process helps ensure the long-term durability, stability and functionality of your vineyard posts – reliably for decades.
